Triple Challenge Hanging Treat Holder

This card is for the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge FTTC26 - make a monochromatic card, OK, so this isn’t a card but close enough right? It also qualifies for the sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You sponsored by JustRite Stamps. I doubt I’ll win but I have to try considering the prize is $100 worth of JustRite goodies! I have been dying to get some more fonts to make my own verses and phrases. This also qualifies for Sharon Johnson’s No Time to Stamp challenge #98 Lovely Lace.

I got the idea for this treat holder from Splitcoast Stampers. Click HERE for the directions. hanging treat holder1Now this holder isn’t very deep, only 1/2” so consider that when making it. Any thin/flat treat or candy bar will fit like Skor, Crispy Crunch, deluxe chocolate bars like mine and of course, good ‘ole Hershey! Other treats like old-fashioned candy sticks or those sugar powder filled sticks, are they Pixie Sticks? You could even pack it with fruit leather/roll ups for a healthier alternative. I can even see it as packaging for a small gift like a tie, gift card (tucked into tissue paper for security). Or how about tea/cup o’ soup packet/Kleenex pack for a sick friend? This can hang on either a door knob or a wine/juice bottle. It wouldn’t be very hard to alter to increase the depth, then you could add more/larger stuff.

It was SUPER easy to make, even easier than other templates I’ve used that I’ve described as easy. hanging treat holder2Score, cut, assemble; took about 5 minutes to make! Of course it took way longer to decorate! I considered decorating the hole part of the holder but I realized that it wouldn’t show with the size of my chocolate bar. The paper is Bazzil printed paper, I had to add a ‘liner’ of the patterned cardstock so that the area around the hole would have the same pattern as the rest of the holder.
