Papertrey Ink Blog Hop-Winter Gift Set

Welcome to my blog! I had such fun making this little gift set. I was so rushed that it isn't quite finished. But I really wanted to add it to the Blog hop quickly.

winter gift set pad

I made an adorable note or list pad using the cute little pads Papertrey sells. The cover opens like a little book. I used the frame from Take Note for the DP on the bottom. I coloured the space between the frame’s lines with a Copic marker to  make it pop. The white border under the bow is cut from felt using the medium scallop die. I cut the mittens out from the DP, don’t you love the Baker’s twine mitten string? I think it is so cute! I may still add a couple punched snowflakes to the framed area. Either that or I might put a dot of Stickles in the center of each mitten in the DP.

The tin I purchased online, it is covered with DP on the top and Hibiscus Burst ribbon on the sides. Inside are 4 clothespins I covered with DP then with glitter then I added a button threaded with twine for an accent. I am going to clip them to a piece of CS and line the tin with tissue paper before I add it to my Etsy shop.

Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge-Pink and Brown Anniversary Card and Tag

I am making some cards for my mom to give and I figured I might as well play some sketches at the same time! This one is for Sketch Challenge #19 by Waltzing Mouse.

pink n brown d e pass

I had so much fun making this card. I started by making the flower using my new Heartfelt Creations 5 petal flower dies and Bittersweet paper. I embossed each petal from the back of the paper with a traditional embossing tool. Then I embossed the middle of each flower from the front to cup the petals upward. Next I scrunched them so they wouldn’t look so perfect and inked the edges with Antique Linen distress ink. Then I punched holes in the middle of all the petals and threaded the stamens through the middle. After adhering it to the card, I added slivers of foam dimensionals under the larger petals to get more dimension.

I made the leaves by folding green ombre ribbon into leaf shapes holding them in place with Scor-Tape. The large flourish is embossed with pale pink powder. To make it pop, I darkened the pattern in the background DP with medium brown ink. I sure hope the Waltzing Mouse Design Team likes my card!

pink n brown d e pass tag

Here is the tag I created to go with it. I had intended to make this card using the last sketch I did and had set up the Just Rite Stamps so even though they didn’t work with this sketch and the flower I made, I decided to still use it by making this tag.

Enjoy, Rebecca

2S4Y Wisteria Anniversary Card

Another card hoping that I’ll get picked for the 2S4Y design team. Pretty please!

I channelled my inner Debbie Olson for this card. I do wish I had used a smaller scalloped edge for the dark purple DP but oh well, I didn’t have enough left to redo it. It is still pretty I think. The focal point uses JustRite stamps using Nestabilities to cut out the outer and inner circles. I stamped the little words and the initial together twice on both the light green DP and the ivory CS. Unfortunately, when I layered the  papers,  the Happy Anniversary on the ivory layer could still be read fron underneath the green layer when the card was at an angle! Ooops! So I used the same Nestabilities to cut a ring of foam dimensional from a sheet I got from Jody Morrow. Now with the foam underneath, you can’t see it! Another save!

Enjoy, Rebecca

2S4Y Pink Peonies

I love using sketches to create! Better yet, this week, the gals at 2S4Y are looking 2! design team members! I would love that ‘job’! More like a privilege! Pick me!

It is pretty easy to figure out. One little interesting note. If you click on the picture for a close up, you can see that I stitched around the perimeter of the DP. One row has thread but the other row is just piercing. Wonder why? I goofed up and sewed using the edge of the card to line up down one side but when I got to the corner, I goofed and followed the edge of the DP. So I removed the thread in the incorrect area and continued sewing correctly. Then to disguise the goofed up holes, I continued ‘sewing’ without thread the rest of the way. Make a mistake, figure out how to cover it up, I rarely ever throw out a card.

Enjoy, Rebecca

Congrats on Your Pregnancy Card

preggie carriage card

I have two friends who are pregnant right now. They are sisters and are due the same week. How cool is that? So I made them matching congrats cards. I used a fun Bella stamp, I think it is babycarriageabella. Gotta LOVE those names!

I used Copics, for some weird reason, the shading on the carriage doesn’t show up at all!  I used a very simple layout to highlight the fab patterned paper.

Enjoy, Rebecca
