Daisy Hat Card for Doodle Pantry

Wow, it is SPRING already, well technically anyways. Our weather hasn’t been great but my bulbs have started poking their green little heads up and the sap is running so we get pancakes with fresh syrup soon. I can’t believe it is already April 5 and time for another fabulous release from Doodle Pantry!

Isn’t this hat so springy and pretty!?! Click on the photo for a better look at my colouring. In case you don’t colour, this image is available PRE-COLOURED too! How nifty is that! I used the latest CPS sketch; I rotated it 90 degrees then mirrored it. I really liked how much space was left at the bottom for the punched edge, I all too often add a punched edge as an after thought or at least as a middle thought and don’t leave space for this gorgeous large punch. This time I started with the punch!

Pear ATC-A Doodle Pantry Sketch Challenge

Did you know that Doodle Pantry has a challenge twice a month? On the 5th and 20th of each month (delayed this time due to illness) Laurie gives her designers and loyal followers a challenge at the DP blog. This one was a sketch Doodle Pantry Sketch Challenge 10.

I usually combine the release image and the challenge but I goofed and forgot. So I also made an ATC that used the sketch, kind of a blend between the two.

I tried something new when colouring this pear. I’ve seen some of the gals who’ve finished had the privilege of attending the advanced Copic course doing some cool things with  their shadows. Maybe my version wasn’t quite right as I can’t decide if I like it or not. That grey blob on the pear is (you already know right?… please!) is a shadow from the leaf. Of course…
