Create Together is an informal challenge between blogging buddies! I’m playing along with Marcie Sharp today. Rather than a photo as inspiration we decided on the theme of summer beach!
I used some fun Summer Stories papers from last summer’s Simon Says Stamp card kit. The papers are all from that kit except the kraft card stock. The photo frame die is by SSS and the flip flop die is from PTI. The glitter epoxy dots are by MME; the sequins are by Lucy’s Little Things.
I wanted this card to loosely reflect the boardwalk found at many large seaside locations; well it kinda morphed in that direction, then I ran with it to take it further. The kraft area obviously represents the sand which was stamped with an old SU! stamp with Distress inks. Then you have the boardwalk itself, the sand of course overlaps, and the bottle caps represent the shops on the boardwalk. The striped paper in behind the shaker reminds me of old changing booths from the Edwardian era! Before putting on the shaker, I sprayed the background with gold shimmer spray.
To make it more exciting, I’ve not seen Marcie’s card and she hasn’t seen mine! I hope you’ll go take a look at her card HERE. I’m sure it’s gorgeous! I can’t wait!!
Thanks Marci for this awesomely fun challenge. I could make beachy, summery cards all year!
Enjoy, Rebecca

We didn't see each others cards and yet we both went with Distress Inks and spray mists to get a 'beachy' look. Great minds think alike. Thanks so much for reaching out, and joining me today. I love your card and can't wait to see more of your projects. :)
