Clear Dollar Stamps Sneak Peak – Yummy Cupcake 1

This was my favourite set to work with, I mean, who doesn’t love cupcakes! This set lets you build different types of cupcakes with different icing and different toppings!

YummyCupcakeRE1
For this card, I used the strawberry and I masked them until I had a whole bunch! YUM! For the ‘bowl’ I stamped the cupcake bottom on the back of the DP I used. To make it look like I used a stamp, I traced the edge with a Copic Multiliner. The strawberries were coloured with Copic Y21 as a base and R37 and 89. For the leaves I used G24 and 28.

This set will be available June 1st. The link on Lori’s blog, Clearly iStamp will be active then. Be sure to visit the rest of the DT who are previewing sets today.

Clear Dollar Stamps Sneak Peak – Air Flair 2

Last but not least, my final project for May’s release.

AirFlareRE2

Do you know we got my mom and dad a hot air balloon ride for their anniversary, 3 years ago, and they have scheduled it about 6 times but each time the weather or wind isn’t favourable? Whew! I hope they enjoy it when it finally happens.

I used a quilt design background  for the base of this card. I love the sentiment ‘make a wish’  and since the background was too busy to stamp directly so I decided my balloon is trailing a banner like planes do. I don’t have any ribbon to match so I coloured mine with a B72 Copic marker. Works great!

This set will be available May 1st. The link on Lori’s blog, Clearly iStamp will be active then. Be sure to visit the rest of the DT who are previewing sets today.

Clear Dollar Stamps Sneak Peak – Air Flair

What a fun set! I really enjoyed working with this it – OK, I know I’ve said that about all of them but I really love Clear Dollar Stamps!

AirFlairRE1

This is a card organizer file, made from a Timeless Template from PTI. I used the dandelion image on the base CS in watermark ink. The main body is stamped directly on the DP so the legs would show up without having to cut out those skinny lines! I stamped and cut the wings out, glittered them and adhered the wings to the stamped body. Then I stamped another body on CS and popped it up on dimensionals. The wings are glittered and the body was painted with Lumiere, a pearlescent paint.

This set will be available May 1st. The link on Lori’s blog, Clearly iStamp will be active then. Be sure to visit the rest of the DT who are previewing sets today.

Clear Dollar Stamps Sneak Peak-Yummy Cupcake 2

This was my favourite card of mine for the May release. I love shabby chic but I have to work at it so I don’t do it as much as I’d like.

YummyCupcakeRE2

The cupcake itself is layered with the bow popped up on foam dots. The ‘icing’ is Liquid Pearls. The poofy bow is made from seam binding tape that I wet and bundled into an elastic. After a few minutes, unbundle the tape and allow it to dry all messy. I sponged some ink on it so it is slightly pink in places.

This set will be available May 1st. The link on Lori’s blog, Clearly iStamp will be active then. Be sure to visit the rest of the DT who are previewing sets today.

Clear Dollar Stamps Sneak Peak – Tag Blessings 2

I tried very hard with my sneak peaks to make cards or projects that were all quite different in style to show that CDS has stamps that work no matter what style you work in. Wait until you see my Shabby Chic card tomorrow!

TagBlessingsRE2 copy

I have loved this paper for ages but with such a busy, large print, it takes some work to find a layout that doesn’t get overwhelmed by the paper or covers so much of the paper that you can’t see the print anymore. I thought the circle designs in the paper worked PERFECTLY with the circle designs in Tag Blessings! See the white flower just above and to the right of the circle? Looks a lot like the flowers in the circle! And this sentiment really covers so many possible uses. Sympathy, Thinking of you, Get Well are all covered by this one sentiment.

I stitched around the edge of the card and as usual, I didn’t decide to do so until the card was put together so the stitching shows inside. I used green bobbin thread so it isn’t too bad. Then I really wished I had pierced along the outer edge of the stamped circle image to echo the dots in the black circle of the DP but I decided against it, figuring there were enough holes inside the card front already!

It is a bit hard to see but the velvet ribbon is tucked a couple times for added texture. I airbrushed the pearls and flower to match. The leaf is velvety, it is sold in a long chain like ribbon! The sentiment was first stamped on the DP and I also stamped it on the circle, deliberately leaving some of the sentiment off the edge, it does fit if you turn the circle more but I wanted the flowers to be pointing the same way as the flower in the DP. Then I carefully aligned the two when adhering my circle.

This set will be available June 1st. The link on Lori’s blog, Clearly iStamp will be active then. Be sure to visit the rest of the DT who are previewing sets today.

Clear Dollar Stamps Sneak Preview-Tag Blessings 1

I’m back with more samples for a fabulous new set, Tag Blessings. There are so many uses for this set! I loved working with it!!

TagBlessingsRE1
I used a tutorial from SCS to create this box card. Inside is a combination of two stamps from the set. I liked the bottom of the one circle image and the top of another so I merged them! I carefully cut out the inner circle of the green stamped image and also trimmed the bird image to match. It is hard to see but I cut carefully around the leaves so a few stick over the edge of the green circle.

The bow is lovely silk ribbon, I adore tying bows out of silk, so soft and the middle is small with poofy loops. The butterfly has pearls for the body from my local dollar store, AWESOME! I use so many more now that they are so cheap. Only 2 c each!!

This set will be available June 1st. The link on Lori’s blog, Clearly iStamp will be active then. Be sure to visit the rest of the DT who are previewing sets today.

Clear Dollar Stamps Sneak Preview-Vintage Spices

Hi everyone! I am so excited to be part of the Clear Dollar Stamps Sneak Preview for June. Today, I am previewing a great kitchen set called Vintage Spices. This is my first project for this set.

VintageSpicesRE1

This is a pillow box, perfect for a gift card or other small gift. A packet of spices would be perfect in here! The flowers hanging from the shelf are covered in Flower Soft. The background paper is gently airbrushed with my Copic Marker Air Brush system keeping my shelf nice and white.

The pillow box template is a Timeless Template from PaperTrey Ink. I used glittered and embossed paper. I actually don’t recommend it because it is really hard to score the curves without a ruler or template.

This set will be available June 1st. The link on Lori’s blog, Clearly iStamp will be active then. Be sure to visit the rest of the DT who are previewing this set today.

Clear Dollar Stamps Sneak Peak-Vintage Spices Project 2

For Whimsical Wednesdays, please scroll down 2 posts. But don’t hurry! Read these posts first!!

I had such fun creating this this set; it is so perfect for any kind of decor for the kitchen. For this project, I recovered part of a recipe box as a gift.

VintageSpicesRE2
The box was only $1.50 at Michaels! So perfect for recovering. I was going to do the whole thing but I realized that the bottom went pretty well with the paper I chose and it does take a long time to cover the whole thing.

VintageSpicesRE3
The tag was easy to make, I stamped the bundled herbs over the whole background of the tag in the same colour ink as the paper. I stamped the hot peppers on the tag then again on white CS, coloured them, cut them out and popped them up on the tag. I used simple red cotton string to tie it on. I haven’t yet but I will add a sealer to the box lid before giving it away. Hope you enjoyed my projects!

May Matchboxes for Whimsical Wednesdays

Our challenge for this week was nice and easy! Make a spring themed project! I was able to combine it with a swap I was working on called May Matchboxes to make two matchboxes and decorate them with May flowers.

Sorry the pictures aren’t so great. I desperately need a macro lens for my camera!

may matchbox1
For this one, I used a rounded petal flower die for the basic part of the flower but I trimmed the petals down so they would be semi-pointed like a daffodil. The middle is made from an arc cut from the yellow paper cut with pinking shears to make the ruffley edge. The stamen is made from embroidery floss I stiffened with glue.

may matchbox2
This one uses an ancient SU! set but I still like it when I don’t feel like or don’t have time for colouring! It is hard to tell, but the purple tulip is popped up at the bottom and double popped at the top. I may still add some pearls or a butterfly to the top corner.

Be sure to see what the other girls on the team made today! Their links are all on my sidebar. I hope you will leave them all some great comments. This one is so easy, you have to be able to play! Just make a spring-themed card or project and link it up to Whimsical Wednesdays with Mr Linky!

Enjoy, Rebecca

RECIPE
Stamps:
SU!
Ink: Versamark, banana, pale plum, perfect plum, apricot, celery, pink pirouette-SU!
Paper: melon mambo, white, celery, saffron-SU!, sweet blush-PTI
Accessories: foam dots-Jody Morrow, white EP (you can’t see it, I used it to colour a brad on the front of the one drawer), Art Institute Glitter (same), satin ribbon-stash (same), brad-Making Memories, embroidery floss (stamen)

Tea ATC

Another ATC swap. I’ve actually done quite a few Swap-Bot swaps since I posted my last one. Between swaps and getting ready for Clear Dollar Stamps Sneak Peak projects, I’ve been really busy!

tea atc1
So fair enough, not very interesting. I wanted the little ‘enjoy’ tag to look like the little thingie that hangs off tea bags.

tea atc2
This is how it looks with out the ribbons in the way. But there is a catch…

tea atc3
It opens up! That’s why the other end of the ribbon had a bead on it. So the ribbon doesn’t come through the hole at the back. You can see the stamped ‘charms’ hanging off the ribbon at the back.

tea atc4
Now you can see the tea cup behind the spoon handle.

tea atc5
And the image at the back. Sorry it is so slanty and I’d take another picture but I already mailed it :)

Enjoy, Rebecca

Sunflower Colour Challenge for Whimsical Wednesdays

This week’s challenge was to use green, yellow, white and black. These aren’t colours I gravitate towards so this was truly a challenge for me but to be honest, I like that!

sunflower sympathy
Sorry the right side is so dark. I didn’t realize that one of my lights was ‘rearranged’ by my baby and so I fixed it but that series of pictures was out of focus. I really need a macro lens! The sketch is by 2 Sketches 4 You. I really liked using it. In fact, I have another card planned that will use it too.

Be sure to play with the DareDevils this week using the challenge colours. I hope you will play too and link up with Mr. Linky and/or upload to a gallery with DDSC32.

Another Get Well Skipping Stones Sketch Card

This card is very similar to the card I posted last but much simpler. The recipient is mostly blind and will be looking at this with a magnifying glass so I kept it very simple and his wife will have to enjoy the detailed colouring.

Get Well – Skipping Stones Sketch

I needed a couple of get well cards lately and I was kinda stumped even though I got tons of new goodies from Ellen Hutson lately! So, as I always do when I am stuck, I tried out a new sketch.

peach guava fell better
I decided to try out my new Nook and Pantry paper. But, as usual with Basic Grey, the colours didn’t match any of my SU! CS. So I checked out my old In Colours and Groovy Guava matched along with blush. Yippee!

I wanted a white lab coat but an ivory background so I coloured the nurse on white paper and cut her out. There were so many little bits that stuck out like her arms and stethoscope that I only cut out her body and ponytail, stamping her on the ivory paper for the small bits. Then I glued the cut out pieces over top.

Guitar Boy for Whimsical Wednesdays

I have to thank Marie from The Greeting Farm so much for this fabulous image, I had SOOOO much FUN!! colouring it! Took me quite a while but I really enjoyed it. Funny thing, I had no idea they had images like this one! But you aren’t going to believe what I did! I didn’t use a TGF image last week so I knew I wanted to use one this week. I got into the colouring and started putting my card together COMPETELY forgetting to use this week’s sketch too! So sorry! I just don’t have time to do another! I’ve never goofed like that before.

guitar boy
Isn’t he great? I loved colouring the jeans especially. I used B91 for the base, it is covered over everywhere but the knees to make them look worn.  Also B 93, 95, 97. If you click to enlarge, you will see I added dirt to his shoes and Spica pen to the guitar and amp dials and tuner thingies. I coloured the cord with a pen because it was too thin for marker colouring. Hubby chose the colour for the guitar, he used to play base in a band so I figured he would know!

clip_image002

The x’s in the center of the stars are Tiny Attacher staples. Jameson approved the punched border by declaring it ‘funky’! The sketch is Inktegrity’s Hump Day Inspiration #6. Sorry Jack! I know it looks a bit off balance right now. Not knowing when I will use this card or to whom I will give it, I left space for a sentiment. I have quite a few in my stash now that I’ve been buying masculine sets as DS gets older.

Please visit all of the DareDevil’s blogs to see how they actually interpreted the REAL sketch! I still can’t believe I did that!! I am looking forward to seeing all of their work since I’m sure they did the right sketch! White Matchbox for Swap-Bot

What an interesting swap! Apparently matchbox swaps are fairly common on Swap-Bot and I am glad I found this one. Challenging both to make and photograph but you all know I LOVE a challenge. Consider this a spoiler alert if you are in the swap and wish to be surprised in case I am your partner.

white matchbox front 2
I started with plain white CS, cut out the template and heat embossed some flourishes with white pearls EP. It showed up much better than I would have expected. Then I constructed the wrap part of the matchbox; this style is called an envelope style because one end is closed and the other has an envelope style flap.

white matchbox side

Next I made the flower using the two smallest Dahlia Nestabilities. I cut two each of the smallest and second smallest; then I embossed two more large ones and cut on the embossed line to make a mid sized flower. I put the pieces on my piercing mat and used an embossing tool to curve every other petal. Then I flipped the flower and embossed the other 4 petals. This gives the petals some dimension and by embossing some up and some down it keeps the flower from looking too perfect. If you want a more perfect flower, emboss them all up or down, not some of each. I cheated a wee bit and used a tiny bit of airbrushing on the flower and leaf. R00 and G00.

white matchbox front

This picture isn’t nearly as good but it does who the shine of the EP. Click for the Matchbook Template.

Enjoy, Rebecca

Pink and Brown Apron for Whimsical Wednesdays

I LOVED this week’s inspiration challenge by Madelynn. I mean who wouldn’t love this room! I WANT that chandelier! I took inspiration from the colours of course, but also the framed aprons on the wall. Be sure to enlarge the photo if you can’t see them clearly.

apron front
apron back

The apron ‘strings’ actually tie around the back of the card. Cute touch huh? The pocket sits away from the apron too. I adhered the bottom in a slightly smaller diameter circle than I cut the pocket with. This means that the sides will angle in slightly especially when you push them that way. Leaves room for a 3-D object in the pocket. I haven’t found anything to use so I hope to find a doll rolling pin perhaps to stick in there. I might even glue one end of a note to it and wrap the rest around the pin tying it with ribbon. The recipient would unroll the paper to read the message.I traced around an oval Nestie for both the ‘armhole’ and the bottom of the pocket and hand cut them.

clip_image002

This month we have an AWESOME new SPONSOR, The Greeting Farm (TGF)! They provided me with a great image for use this week. But this is the funny part! It is an image of a teen/tween aged boy! Umm, how do I do pink and brown with a boy… So I hope you will come back next week to see ‘Jake’!! You have to play along with the inspiration challenge this week though because if you do, you can win a great prize from TGF! So channel your inner girlie girl and find inspiration in this room! I think we are all playing this week so be sure to check out all of the DareDevils blogs, links on my sidebar or find a full list at Whimsical Wednesdays. Don’t forget after creating a fabulous project using the inspiration photo, to link up on the WW site with a DIRECT LINK using Mr Linky! If you don’t, you won’t be entered to win!
