Baby Card Gift Set – Part 2

This is the other baby card gift set I worked on at the same time as the one in THIS POST. Only this set is for a girl with a darker skin tone. I can only imagine it must be hard to find images coloured into look like ethnic babies.

Everything about this set is exactly the same as the  other set except the other set is in a different colour (d’uh) so please see that post for more details and the recipe. :)

Enjoy, Rebecca

Music Speaks Card

I love vintage sheet music. Actually, now that I think about it, I think this was from a book, same difference! I love the old paper, so thin and easy to distress.

Baby Organizer for Whimsical Wednesdays

baby girl desk of Isn’t it cute? I used a PTI template, From the Desk of. I have made a few tweaks to the pattern to accommodate the punching and to refine the fit of the insert. The first time I made it, it was a bit too big. I also had to redesign the angle on the sides so there wasn’t an odd bit of paper from the punching. I am going to add a set of card to this and hope to sell them on Etsy or at the craft show I am going to Feb 7th.

I added the bookmark just to add the verse to the organizer but it can also be hung on a wall or doorknob which is why I didn’t cut the ribbon. The magnet I used was just from one of those rolls. I usually use it to keep Nesties in CD cases. Simple and cheaper than those magnetic dots you can buy from Basic Grey and I’m sure other places. The clothespin idea was from Mishie of Mish Mash. She has done them a few times in different ways. If nothing else, it is a cute accent but it can be useful too.

Here is an important announcement from Whimsical Wednesdays. Drumroll please…

Baby Gift Card Sets

Hi everybody! Sorry I haven’t written in so long. I figured everyone else was so busy, no one would be around to read my posts! I have been busy though too, STAMPING! I paid for a table at a local craft show so I am in production mode every chance I get. Hubby is off for the next week so that should help me get a lot done.

Anyone who reads my blog knows that I LOVE making baby cards. I just couldn’t resist making a set of CAS cards using the tiny images from my new PTI baby set.

I love these clear boxes I got from PTI, of course you can get them elsewhere. I made 4x4 cards but the box is intended for 4.25 x 5.5” cards and their matching envies. I tried just putting the cards in the box as is but they looked silly. So I made a spacer for the bottom of the box and decorated it. I had intended to decorate the outside of the box a bit but this seemed to pti baby card set boy cauc closeupwork so much better. The spacer is covered in vellum for a soft look. The envelopes are blue to match the cards and are also stamped with the same images but in blue and not coloured in. The baby in this case is Causasian; I made another set with an ethnic baby I will show you later.

I don’t celebrate Christmas so I’m sorry, no holiday greetings. But I do hope you all have a safe holiday. PLEASE don’t drink drive and be aware of people around you to keep them safe!
